FEATURED SELLER: CatHot - Kasia

Kasia is a mother and a wife. She has a 15 month old baby girl, the most patient husband in the world and a kitty - Nuszkis. And she runs 3 etsy stores: CatHot with Handmade Wonders Jewelry and Decoupage, CatCold with Vintage and Supplies and Cat's Little Corner with Bath, Body and Handcrafted Soaps. How does she do it all?! Find out below.

Tell us something about yourself
I was born in Gryfino. I live in Southern California, a place that's a mixture of many cultures and nationalities. Every day here is an opportunity for new experiences and meeting new people. I'm lucky to live in the area, full of galleries and stores for local artists. Sometimes I go the coast, where I can calm down while listening to the waves.  I try to go to Poland at least once a year. It's in Poland where I feel at my best. Spending time with family and friends is what energizes me and gives me the strength to keep on going.

I went to college for sociology, I'm a masseuse and a florist. I have experience with flower arrangements and interior decorating. At the moment I'm a 'domestic goddess' :), I take care of the house and raise my daughter.

How did you start your adventure with jewelry?

Ever since I can remember, I have always been creating. I was drawing, painting, sculpting, sewing, crocheting, designing, singing in a choir and so on. I was looking around for a while to find my niche, until I got my first earring making kit. That was the first first step towards my adventure with jewelry that has been going for several years now.
Lately, my mom introduced me to decoupage and it became my new secondary passion.

Describe your creative process

Here and now, is pretty much what it boils down to. Ideas show up spontaneously, anytime and anywhere.
Before I became a mother, I could just go with them, whenever they popped out. I would go ahead, picked up the materials, sat down and created. Now, it's a bit more complicated, because my daughter and my husband come first.
I'm not the type of person, who plans, write down the ideas and sketches the designs. Sometimes, I have no idea what the finished product will look like. I don't have a studio or a special place where I work. Sometimes I created sitting in front of the computer, sometimes in the kitchen and other times on the couch or even on the floor.
Everyday, I reinforce myself in the belief, that I have the most patient husband in the world.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Somewhere where I feel happy and fulfilled. Maybe in my own flower shop or a gallery or maybe in a little store at a large corporation...
In 10 years, I would like to be able to look back and say: I'm proud of myself, I've done everything that I planned, I've learn plenty and I've met a lot of wonderful people.

I know that everything has to come to an end at some point, but everything that I learn in the process, stays with me. I love to learn new stuff. At the moment I'm in the process of acquiring a brand new passion - soap making.
