ViVi's crafting space

Malgosia is the person behind two awesome stores: ViVictoria and vivitoo and she's our featured seller today.  She'll share with us her passion for crafting and will talk about her workspace. Look at how wonderful it looks and check this out - she repainted and reupholstered that chair herself! If you ask me - GORGEOUS!!!

What kinds of crafts do you do?

My favorite is weaving, but for now I don't have a true workshop, just too small space for looms. So... I sew handbags using appliques very often. I design knitwear and sometimes knit myself too. I love to do it, but handbags take so much time! Sometimes I need to rest and then I crochet free forms this time, I find it relaxing.

Where do you craft?

For now I work and live at my mom's apartment and look for my dream workshop. I have now small, funny space; is possible to work there but often impossible to find anything!

What in your craft space (if anything) inspires you?

I pick up inspirations pretty  much from anything.  On the streets, in the park, especially when I travel, everywhere, even in my lovely coffee bar.

What kind of materials, tools you use most often? How do you store them?

I have few sewing machines and a lot of hand tools. My favorite are Olfa rotary cutters and big mat - I use them daily. My machines work hard too.
I like natural fabrics and have hundreds of yards! Cotton, linen and silk, and blends - I'm crazy buying still and always too much! I is difficult to store it all in my tiny work place, it really is a pain.

How do you organize your workspace?

I'm sure: everybody thinks that the room where I work is in a state of complete disorder, but I know that this look is deceitful! It is a special kind of order, my order :)
I have a lot drawers, boxes, and - what is the most important - huge tables.

Do you have any organization tips/tools/tricks that can help others improve their workspace?

Now I know that even a very small space is good when you have passion and energy! Nothing can stop you if you want to work!

What is your one most favourite thing in your craft room?

Books! It is funny, but I have  shelves full of books.  I read when my hands need to rest.

If you could change one thing in your craft room what would it be?

More space, more shelves. I expect a new workshop soon, but I'm happy even now! I enjoy what I have, but dreams are waiting to come true :)
