PolETSY: What kinds of crafts do you do?
cubasi: First of all, I design and I sew things for kids. These are toys, purses, pictures, hair accessories - generally anything that comes to mind :-)
Where do you craft?
I craft at home - I have a crafting corner in our bedroom :-)
I have a big table there, and one smaller (with the sewing machine), additionally one bookcase, two windowsill and lots of boxes.
What in your craft space (if anything) inspires you?
My children are inspiring me mostly. They love to be in my craft space, digging in the felt, beads, buttons and ribbons. They are often surprising me and have innovative ideas, which then of course I use.
What kind of materials, tools you use most often? How do you store them?
I often use felt and cotton. My main tools are scissors and rotary cutters, needles and sometimes the sewing machine.
I keep lots of things in boxes, and fabric - on the shelves.
How do you organize your workspace?
It is a difficult question... :-) Generally I try to keep everything in boxes to be able to find everything quickly. So it looks like that on Monday.
Tuesday half of the table is already full of stuff. Friday, you can't even see the cutting mat.
During the weekend I am cleaning (I made the picture that time :-), and again Monday comes...
Do you have any organization tip/tool/tricks that can help others improve their workspace?
Boxes, small boxes, containers etc. It's best if they are transparent and can stand one on another.
What is your one favourite thing in your craft room?
I have a few hits :-) Cutting mat, nail scissors (great for precise cutting), and of course my notebook :-)
If you could change one thing in your craft room what would it be?
I would like to turn my craftcorner into a real studio. The whole room just for me - a huge table, lots of shelves and a professional place to take photos. Nice dream... :-)
Thanks for having us, cubasi!
Oh, love your felt storage boxes! Very cute ;)
